FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The apartment above a downtown Fredonia bar went up in flames Wednesday night just before 8 p.m.
Witnesses say flames could be seen shooting out through a second story window above BJ's Bar, a popular nighttime spot known for its bands and cheap drinks. On its website, the business says it's one of the oldest bars in western New York, having opened its doors in 1933.
Chief Kurt Maytum tells News 4 no one was injured in the fire, which was confined to a single apartment. Officials are still looking for a cause. BJ's will likely be closed for the next few days due to smoke and water damage.
