BUFFALO, N.Y. - Emily Guggenmos joined WIVB/WNLO-TV News 4 in March 2012 as a general assignment reporter. She is excited to be back in a city with four seasons and is looking forward to Buffalo’s year-round events.
Emily comes to Buffalo from Tucson, Arizona where she was the weekend anchor for KVOA-TV. While in Tucson, Emily reported among the national media on stories such as Arizona’s implementation of controversial anti-immigration laws at the Arizona State Capitol and the horrible mass shooting involving Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
Before her move to the desert, Emily worked in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where she was the morning anchor for KDLT-TV. There she covered everything from murder trials to the oldest living South Dakotan, but the most significant moment in her time there was meeting her husband, Lou, while reporting out in the field. Before working for KDLT, Emily interned at KWWL in Waterloo, Iowa while she attended the University of Northern Iowa. She was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa.
When not working, she enjoys photography, cooking, and traveling with her husband whom she married in June 2010. Of course their Westie Parker and Morkie Mila are never far behind.
If you have an idea for a great story, Emily would love to tell it. Email her at emily.guggenmos@wivb.com.
