BUFFALO, N.Y. - Professional Experience

Spent a year as a Morning Drive News Anchor at WELM-AM, Elmira, NY before jumping over to television at WETM-TV in Elmira (1986-1990).

Awards/Recognition

From the New York State Associated Press Broadcasters Association:

  • First Place for General Excellence in Individual Reporting (1993)
  • First Place for Best Continuing Coverage of an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by priests (1993)
  • Honorable Mention for Best Continuing Coverage for coverage of letter bombings in Western New York (1993)

Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, State University College at Buffalo, 1986

Community Involvement

  • Member of the Buffalo State Alumni Media Advisory Committee
  • With her husband Tom, Lisa hosts an annual 4th of July party at their home to benefit the Franciscan Center.

Interests

  • Lisa and her husband Tom became first time parents in 2003. Thomas Harvey Carmen was born in March.
  • When Lisa is not working, she can be spotted around town with Thomas, as well as "Brutus" and "Duke," her Labrador Retrievers.
  • She is also a budding chef and says her husband's ever-expanding waistline is a testimony to her developing culinary talents.
