  • Joined the News 4 team September, 1978
  • Named Senior Correspondent in 1999
  • WMAQ-TV Chicago: Troubleshooter 1975-'78
  • WOKR-TV Rochester: Troubleshooter 1974-'75
  • WIXT-TV Syracuse: Action Reporter 1973-'74
  • WCIC-TV Ithaca, NY: Anchor/News Director 1971-'73

Rich Newberg served as WIVB-TV weekend anchor and main anchor prior to his appointment as Senior Correspondent. Rich has co-produced documentaries for the station under the banner "Rich Newberg Reports."

Many of his television specials have received state, national, and international honors.

He has been the recipient of ten New York Emmy Awards and one Chicago Emmy, Rich is a Regional Vice President of the New York Chapter of the National Television Academy.

In October, 2006 Rich was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcast Hall of Fame.
