WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A candlelight vigil was held in Williamsville aimed to raise awareness of eating disorders.
A small group gathered outside the offices of the Eating Disorders Association of western New York. The agency lost its funding from Erie County two years ago and is struggling now to pursue its mission. It's estimated thousands of western New Yorkers are battling disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
The agency says many high school students who are most at-risk are no longer receiving information about preventing eating disorders.
