BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - After three decades, it's the end of a culinary adventure in downtown Buffalo. It is the last March of Dimes Gourmet Gala.

For 29 years, Colleen Morey has guided this big, colorful, and delicious Buffalo fundraiser: the March of Dimes Gourmet Gala. Her touch is everywhere, in the decorations, the theme, and the selection of celebrity chefs that prepare their favorite recipes.

The party is over the top, but the cause is close at heart. The March of Dimes fights birth defects and the Gourmet Gala has raised $5 million over all these years to nurture healthier babies. John Murphy and Jacquie Walker are were honored to once again serve as emcees for the Gourmet Gala, but both are sorry to say this is the last one.

Colleen said, "We felt it was time to move on. We've really put a lot into it over the years."

Colleen is quick to point to the many volunteers, businesses, and contributors who helped make it all happen over the past three decades. But, this big event partied on for so many years because of Colleen Morey.

"It's been my baby and I'm very proud of what we've done," said Colleen.

It's a fond farewell to a gourmet adventure that ultimately served a brighter future to countless Buffalo babies.
