BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The life and work of a murdered Buffalo nun is living on through a special event.
A showing of unity marked the conclusion of a three day non-violence summit, held in memory of Sister Karen Klimczak in the Queen City.
Sister Karen was killed four years ago, by a parolee she was assisting at Buffalo's Bissonette House.
Whitehead exclaimed, "It takes the community to stop the violence, it doesn't take just one person or one church, it takes a community as a whole to stop the violence. The violence that's happening now within our city needs to stop and it takes the community to start that."
This week's summit was organized by the Sister Karen Klimczak Center for non-violence on Durham Avenue in Buffalo.
