Ransacked shelter gets donation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - More proof Buffalo is indeed the city of good neighbors.

Metalico Buffalo donated $1,000 to the YWCA of western New York.

Last week, News 4 told you the story of how burglars broke into a women's shelter and stole metal fixtures.

The crime caused a lot of damage.

Metalico heard what happened and wanted to help rebuild.

Metal prices have skyrocketed in recent years prompting a rise in thefts. Senator Charles Schumer just recently announced legislation to crack down on the sale of stolen scrap metal.
