BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Western New York hospitals and insurance carriers have won a $16 million federal grant to broaden the use of electronic medical records in the region.
The money goes to Health-Elink, a computer network involving Catholic Health, ECMC, Kaleida, Roswell Park, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Independent Health and Univera. The goal of the network is to lower medical costs by cutting paperwork and sharing records instantaneously.
