A Buffalo Family got the home of its dreams.
News 4 kept you connected as thousands of volunteers worked 24-7 on the Massachusetts Avenue home.
Delores Powell and her four children returned to the Queen City in style late Saturday afternoon.
One of the first people to greet the Powell family was R&B singer, Ashanti.
The crowd's enthusiasm hit a fever pitch as Dolores Powell and her children prepared to see what the Extreme Makeover team worked on around the clock for the past week.
"Oh, it's just an amazing experience just to be a part of changing a community and making a transformation. It's awesome," said spectator, Jamie Procknell.
The focus was on the Powell's home, which received the extreme makeover.
However, thousands of volunteers spent the past week working on that house and others in the west side community in an effort to make a difference.
Volunteer, Darcee Hugh said, "It's been wonderful. We came Monday. We came last night and spent the night. We've been here all night. It's been great."
Once the home was revealed, the Powell's rushed inside.
The extreme makeover was complete.
The family's home was falling apart.
Now, it's like a new lease on life with a new place to call home.
The Powell's faces tell the story.
