Casting company needs local families

HGTV is looking for six families in Niagara County to take part in the show "Holiday Battle on the Block." In each of two one-hour specials, three young families are put to the challenge and partake in a festive decorating face-off by two HGTV hosts.

Families will compete for the title of 'Best Holiday House' in front of the local community, by decorating their home for the holidays. Six families will be selected to participate in the show and will be given a healthy budget to design, shop, and build something special within 48 hours.

HGTV is looking for young families with children or teens, who live in a heritage or heritage style home, and are available for filming December 10-13 or December 15-18. In order to be considered, families must live in the areas of Lewiston, Youngstown, North Tonawanda, Newfane, Olcott, Wilson, the city of Lockport, or Deveaux in Niagara Falls.

"Holiday Battle on the Block" is being produced by Cineflix for HGTV U.S. and HGTV Canada and will air in 2010.
