A Queen City family is getting their dream home, thanks to an extreme makeover and a swarm of Western New York volunteers.
Neighbors all along Massachusetts Avenue were overjoyed to hear the good news.
News 4's cameras were kept away from the official announcement, but News 4 checked in to see what nearby residents thought of the TV crew and the construction project.
Massachusetts Avenue resident, Elisa Cruz explained, "They were just crying and jumping around. They were so happy."
Amy Gonzalez exclaimed, "I was excited for her. I was crying myself, 'cuz I watch the show all the time."
"There's a bigger push, all pun intended, to make this community on the west side a more sustainable community for people to live in," said Eric Walker from PUSH Buffalo.
Crews will be improving the entire neighborhood and the block will be closed to the public during the project.
