Community mourns over soldier's death

NIAGARA WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Niagara County Community is mourning a soldier who gave his life overseas.

21-year-old Alan Dikcis of Wheatfield was killed Thursday in Afghanistan.

Dikcis was an engineer who worked on clearing roadside bombs and was reportedly killed when one of those bombs exploded.

The 2006 Niagara-Wheatfield graduate was scheduled to return for two weeks in April on leave and come home in June.
