WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Army Specialist Blake Whipple of Williamsville was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last month.

His family asked friends to send care packages to other servicemen and women in Blake’s memory. Michele Karnes has contacted News 4 to say that she and others have set up a Blake Whipple Team page on the USO website.

Michele Karnes said, “Since it is the holidays, we want people to remember and thank our troops who are fighting for our freedom everyday.”

All donations will go to provide care packages and phone cards for those serving overseas. You can find out information on how to help here.
