GENESEO, NY - A Williamsville college student has plead guilty in connection with a hazing incident that lead to the drinking death of a SUNY Geneseo student.
Daniel Wech, 22, appeared in Livingston County Court last week and plead guilty to unlawfully dealing with a child for his part in the hazing death of Arman Partamian, 19, of Queens,last March.
Wech was sentenced to weekends at the Livingston County Jail for the next three months.
The victim, Arman Partamian died in a non-sanctioned frat house near the Geneso campus last spring. His blood alcohol was listed at .55. His body was discovered in the independent fraternity known as "The PIGS".
Wech was originally charged with criminally negligent homicide but a judge dismissed that charge. He and two others were accused of encouraging and ordering Partamian to drink dangerous amounts of alcohol.
The plea comes with the Partamian family's blessing.
In addition to spending weekends in jail, Wech also has to pay a
$1,000 fine and has to stay out of trouble for the next year.
