Roll-over crash near Daemen College

AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - A young man and his cat are lucky to be alive after a crash on Main Street near Daemen College.

Amherst Police say the man was reading a map while driving, lost control of his vehicle and sheared a telephone pole, around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

Police had to shut down Main Street in the westbound direction for a period of time, because of low hanging wires.

The man was taken to ECMC with chest injuries and is expected to be okay. His name or age has not been released.
