KANSAS CITY (WIVB) - Buffalo's defense had four interceptions, and led the Bills to a 16-10 win in Kansas City. It improves the Bills record to 5-8. Terrence McGee, Paul Posluszny, Jairus Byrd and George Wilson all had picks of KC quarterback Matt Cassel. Late picks by Byrd and Wilson thwarted the Chiefs fourth quarter chances for go-ahead touchdowns.
Buffalo scored in the first quarter when Ryan Fitzpatrick hit Terrell Owens for a 9 yard TD. It capped a 92 yard drive, started when Aaron Schobel sacked Cassel on a 4th and goal attempt from the 1 yard line.
Rian Lindell kicked three field goals for the Bills only other scoring. Fitzpatrick finished 12/20 fvor 86 yards, 1 TD and 1 inteception. Fred Jackson led the Bills with 99 yards rushing. Marshawn Lynch had a 47 yard run, as part of his 84 yard day. The Bills ran for 200 yards.
Jackson was also the Bills leading receiver with 3 catches.
Defensively, in addition to the interceptions, Bryan Scott had 10 tackles and a sack. Paul Posluszny had 9 tackles and an interception. Byrd's pick was his 9th of the season, and leads the NFL.
"I though we just hung in a fought tough. We wanted to establish the run and we did that," said Interim Head Coach Perry Fewell.
The Bills host the Patriots next Sunday.
