Police investigate woman's death

LOCKPORT, NY (WIVB) - Lockport Police are investigating the death of woman who was found outside the former Niagara County Infirmary building on Davison Rd in Lockport.

Police responded to the call of a woman down shortly after 6am Saturday morning. When Lockport Police and Fire Rescue personnel arrived on the scene they found a woman lying unconscious near the front of the old Infirmary building. The unidentified woman was taken to Eastern Niagara Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say there was no evidence of violence but no indication as to the cause of death. The incident is under investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning. The name of the victim is not being released until her family has been notified.
