CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Erie County Sheriff Timothy Howard says Harry E. Sanderson, 53, was arrested Sunday. Around 5:15 p.m. someone called 911 about an incident at the ALDI store on Transit Road in Clarence.

When Sheriff's deputy Scott Kuhlmey arrived, he found Sanderson trying to run away after taking money from one of the store's cash register. In the process of the robbery, deputies say Sanderson hit the cashier, who was not injured.

Sanderson was arrested and the money was recovered. Sanderson, a Clarence resident, was charged with 3rd-degree robbery, grand larceny, and 2nd-degree harassment. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
