TORONTO, Ont. -
The sticking gas pedals on the troubled Toyotas were made a short distance away from Buffalo.
The Globe and Mail reports that CTS Corp. in Mississauga manufactured those pedals and the company has a record of top quality. In fact the CTS Corp. won the 2005 excellence in manufacturing award from Toyota.
Toyota is blaming the pedals for its decision to halt sales of top-selling models and forced them to shut down virtually all of their North Amarican production lines.
CTS reportedly employes about 150 people.
The CTS headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana issued a statement saying it had been working with Toyota on a new gas pedal design and has already begn shipping them to some Toyota factories.
