Zippo completes takeover of Ronson

BRADFORD, PA - There's some good news to report from Bradford, Pa. where Zippo Manufacturing Co. has wrapped up the purchase of assets involving the consumer products division of www.ronsoncorp.com/

The deal was first announced last October. Terms were not disclosed although Ronson said the sale price was $11.1 million.

Zippo is best known for its refillable windproof lighters but theyalso manufacture lighter accessories, butane candle lighters, lifestyle products for men and some outdoor products and accessories.

Ronson markets a range of lighter fuels and accessories, as well as an assortment of refillable butane pocket lighters, utility lighters and torches.

The agreement calls for Ronson products to continue to be marketed and sold under the Ronson name.

More than 500 workers are employed at the Zippo Bradford facility.
