BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The holiday shopping season has begun, for airline tickets that is.

American Airlines is having a Fall/Winter airfare sale with tickets starting at just $69 each way. You have to purchase your ticket by Tuesday for travel through December 15. The $69 rate is not valid on Fridays and Sundays.

A similar deal for AirTran right now, but prices are starting at just $44 each way. And there are also special rates for getaways to Cancun, Aruba, and Montego Bay.

Friday is the last day you can sign up for the Jetblue "All You Can Get Pass". That's unlimited travel for $699 from Sept. 7 through Oct. 6. $499 if you don't travel Fridays and Sundays.

Last year the All You Can Jet Pass was $599 and it sold out in just two days, but this year fares are up 20%, so paying a little more is understandable.

But is it really a good deal? FareCompare CEO told Smart Money magazine that it is, but just compare ticket prices first to make sure you'll break even.
