Savings 4 You: Restaurant week

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Restaurant week has arrived and local eateries are looking to tempt your tastebuds with some great deals.

Restaurant Week 2011 is a great opportunity to eat at a new place you've always wanted to try, but in reality, you'll find the bill can still really add up. So News 4's Melissa Holmes went through the entire list of nearly 200 restaurants with a fine tooth comb to find you the best deals.

Most restaurants will offer you multiple courses for one person for the set price of $21.11. It's a lot of food, but for two dinners, plus two drinks, tax and tip, a couple could easily spend more than $60. So for those places that only offer one meal for $21, Holmes tends to look for a place with beverages included, like Bijou Grill. You get your choice of wine or appetizer, soup or salad, a choice of 5 entrees, plus dessert. Or at Century Grill, 1 lb. of snow crab, domestic beer, fries, salad and slaw. Or a new mediterranean restaurant in the Elmwood Village, Mezza Restaurant & Lounge gives you wine, appetizer, salad, entree, dessert.

Now, Holmes found only about a third of the restaurants offer you two meals for the $21.11. The ones that I consider to offer you the most food? WJ Morissey, two entrees, two soups, two beers all for $21. Also, Kentucky Greg's Hickory Pit in Depew, you can get two combo platters and drinks if you dine in, but you can also get a take-out meal big enough for the entire family. La Hacienda Brighton, soup or salad, two entrees, 1/2 caraffe wine or two beverages, plus dessert. All $21.
