PITTSFORD, NY - A popular food chain, Trader Joe's , is coming to the Rochester area.

Trader Joe's announced they will open a new location in the Pittsford Plaza in 2012.

There have been attempts to get the chain to move into the Buffalo market, perhaps on the Waterfront.

The grocery chain is in many other parts of the country but is slow to establishing in New York State. However, they do have several stores in Manhattan.

In 2009, Consumer Reports conducted a survey of more than 32,000 people asking about grocery chain satisfaction. Wegman's came in first and Trader Joe's came in second.
