LEROY, NY (WIVB) - Genesee County cows can be credited for attracting a Maryland company to set up shop in LeRoy.

Business First reports that Novera Protein Inc. will be setting up shop in LeRoy to manufacture vegetable bypass protein supplements for the dairy and beef feed markets.

Novera has been in business for eight years and is looking to expand throughout the U.S.

The company is hoping to attract investors to pony up $200,000 to get the new LeRoy facility started.  If their scheme is successful the plant could be up and running by August.

Ralph Briggs, Chief Operating Officer for Novera, said the decision to locate a plant in LeRoy was easy- they are looking for market where there are 400,000 dairy cows.
