BUFFALO, N.Y.(WIVB) - You've heard of "a tree grows in Brooklyn."
How about "a forest grows in Buffalo?"
Re-Tree Western New York and other community groups planted a tree farm Saturday afternoon on a vacant lot on 14th street on the city's west side.
Paul Maurer of Re-Tree Western New York said, "We're going to bring these trees out to the city streets, to plant them in the public areas, for the reforestation of Buffalo."
"This is like real good because it helps the community, so good like it helps out their whole karma around here," said Dimitri Bishop.
Grant money for the community foundation for greater Buffalo helps pay for the reforestation.
