BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - An admitted cross burner faced sentencing Wednesday in State
Supreme Court. 41 year old Donald Napierala placed the burning
cross in the front yard of a mixed race couple in South Buffalo in
July of 2008.
He admitted to reckless behavior and aggravated harassment.
Justice William Boller sentenced Napierala to three and a half to
seven years in prison.
"I would just like to apologize to everybody that I offended
by this, and especially to Kelly Kohr and her kids. They didn't
deserve any of this and they had nothing to do with it and I'm very
sorry," said Defendant Donald Napierala.
Napierala's mother said he suffers from bipolar disorder.
