ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Residents in Alden are deciding whether to become the next Western New York community to downsize their government.
Ron Smith would actually hold even more power as Town Supervisor if town voters agree to downsize two of the four council members but he thinks it's a bad idea.
He said town board members pick up extra duties in this town, duties the town would have to pay for.
Civic leader, Kevin Gaughan said Western New York pays too many politicians.
But some wonder where downsizing would end.
New 4's George Richert brings you with the latest report.
