American LaFrance to shut Hamburg plant

HAMBURG, NY - A company with long roots in western New York, American LaFrance LLC, will be closing its Hamburg plant by the end of May.

American LaFrance which manufactures fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, was bought by Patriarch Partners LLC in 2005. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last July.

The Hamburg plant on Camp Road and another plant in Ephrata, Pa. will both close. The Hamburg plant employs 70 workers.
