Buffalo Firefighters remember grim day

Saturday marks 25 years since explosion

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Saturday marks a grim day in history for the Buffalo Fire Department.

25 years ago, five firefighters and two civilians died when a propane tank exploded in a north division street warehouse.

The blast leveled an entire city block.

Saturday at 8:20 p.m. Buffalo Firefighters will observe a moment of silence to remember those killed in the explosion.

A mass of remembrance will be held at 4: 30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Cathedral on Franklin Street in Buffalo.
