BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The crushing economy is making the wild look tame at the Buffalo Zoo. Cuts in state and county funding is forcing zoo officials to take drastic steps. 

They've cut positions, slashed enhancement programs for staff, and even zoo president Donna Fernandes took a self-imposed pay cut.

"We're hoping we can limp through this year, but long term we don't think we could maintain this," said Fernandes.
