Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that the Sheriff's Office is investigating several residential burglaries that occurred during the daytime hours in the Town of Grand Island.
Seven houses have been entered since late February, with a wide-variety of items having been taken.
No one was at home at any of the residences when the crimes were committed. Entry into the houses was usually made by forcing open a rear or side door.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call Detective Dennis Fitzgibbon at 858-7755.
Sheriff Howard asks that all Grand Island residents be alert to any strange vehicles or people in their neighborhood, and to call 911 should they see anything that appears to be suspicious.
