Bristol-Myers Squibb will close East Syracuse operations by the end of 2010, eliminating 100 jobs. The drug maker is consolidating its Drug Safety Evaluation group into facilities in Indiana and New Jersey and leaving the door open for employees to transfer to other sites.
The company currently employs 650 workers who develop ways to make new drugs and in small-scale manufacturing.
The majority of East Syracuse positions will be transferred to the other sites, and some workers will be offered transfers based on their skills and those needed by the company.
