BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - They run into burning buildings to save our lives and they do it
for free.
But now, volunteer firefighters are facing their own
emergency in these financially troubled times.
Between the high price of gas and the crumbling stock market,
some may be forced to make a tough choice when it comes to
responding to emergency calls.
Donald, Szumigala, Doyle said, "People will have less time to
volunteer because they'll be forced to work a 2nd or 3rd or 4th job
to make ends meet."
Monday night, News 4's Tricia Cruz takes a closer look at the
problem and what's being done to handle this emergency.
