BUFFALO, N.Y. - Trout season opens April 1 and fishing enthusiasts will find that many of their favorite fishing holes have been well stocked by the Department of Environmental Conservation.
Just prior to the opener, nearly 50,000 trout were dumped into Western New York streams- with more to come in the coming weeks.
Some of the facts and figures include 7,180 yearling brown trout stocked in the Genesee River at Amity. The Ischua Creek in Franklinville has had 3,840 yearling browns and 1,240 two-year old browns added to the water.
