FREDONIA, N.Y. - The SUNY Fredonia is offering free tax preparation for some low-income, elderly and non-English speaking individuals.
The SUNY Fredonia Accounting Society is teaming up withthe
Chautauqua County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition to serve the
community through the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
(VITA) Program.
Eighteen SUNY Fredonia accounting and business students are
volunteering their time and knowledge every Saturday during
“tax season” until April 11 at the Dunkirk Free
Library, at 536 Central Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Using
personal computers provided by the IRS, and Internet access
provided by the library, students prepare and file federal and
state tax returns electronically for each client.
