BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Particia Schmidt recalls her last conversation with her neighbor Fran.
"She said don't worry about me he's just all mouth," said Schmidt.
She had a feeling her friend might be in trouble.
"I said Frannie come home with me, we'll drink tea and do puzzles," said Schmidt. "She refused."
No one knows exactly what happened when Fran closed the door Wednesday night.
All police claim to know is that Thursday night they found an elderly couple shot to death inside the home on 7th Street. Investigators are calling it a "suspicious" homicide.
"Right now our detectives want to do more investigative work," Buffalo Police Department public spokesperson Mike DeGeorge said. "We'll leave the deaths as suspicious."
Schmidt says the couple was Myrtle "Fran" Sauriol and Inocencio Perez.
"He'd come right outside and wave the gun around," said Schmidt.
She says the retired security guard had health problems and often threatened Fran with his gun.
"She called the police a couple of times to have those guns removed because of his instability," said Schmidt. "I guess the police asked him a few questions and they were comfortable leaving him with the the guns."
Schmidt also said, "I begged her to leave the house,"
Buffalo Police haven't released any more information about this homicide. Police say it was a relative who made the gruesome discovery Thursday night.
