Buffalo, N.Y. - A local company is doing its part to make sure everyone rings in the new year safely.

Designated Drivers of Buffalo provides an alternative to the normal taxicab ride home.

You call them. They drive you home in your own car, and follow you in one of theirs.

That helps with the hesitation some people might have because they wouldn't have their own car on New Year's morning.

"People don't go out, wanting to drive drunk .... we're doing our job," according to Michael Mule, CEO, Designated Drivers of Buffalo.

The law firm of William Mattar is picking up the tab for anyone using the service from downtown Buffalo New Year's Eve.
