BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - These days retailers are offering lots of deals, both in store and online. Below are a few tips on markdowns, sales and coupons at some local stores.

Most if not all stores have some sort of deal going on at any time. At hip Bebe, they have a special 50 percent off sales rack all the time.

You can also register online to receive coupons and special sale notices. At Holister, markdowns are taken every Tuesday night, so go on Wednesday for the most selection.

It's the same at Abercrombie, markdowns on Tuesday for Wednesday sales. Beginning Friday, Aeropostale is offering a 25 percent off coupon that runs through May. Ask for one inside the store.

They also markdown on Tuesday nights. American Eagle has the same markdown day, they also have an all access pass, where you earn a 40 percent off coupon after a certain number of purchases.

The Gap is focusing on weekend events that discount different items. If you make a purchase and take a phone survey, you can receive a 20 percent off one item coupon.

J Crew gives a break to college students and teachers. With a valid ID, they can receive 15 percent off their purchase.

Many people have asked about Target. We're told they take markdowns everyday. They do offer coupons, which are mailed out to Target credit card holders, and at certain times, you can find coupons on their web site, that you can print out and use in the store.

Wherever you shop, always ask if there are any coupons or specials. For example, News 4's Victoria Hong and her daughter were at Delia's asking about promotions. The clerk said if her daughter simply tried on a sweater, they would get a $25 store coupon.
