From ebay to Craigslist, there are many places to choose from when it comes to online shopping.

But one entrepreneur has created a whole new way to save online shoppers some money.

Marcia Gates of Balch Springs is always looking for a way to save money. While searching for deals in North Texas, she came across a website called DFWBid.com.

"I was skeptical at first but after searching and researching I didn't find anything bad about it so I decided to try it," Marcia said.

"I wanted to create a website tht was fun to use and also benefited people," said creator of DFWBid.com, Sanj Raj.

Sanj Raj runs the new auction website from his apartment in Addison.

"The other acution sites are just standard run or the mill we wanted to be different."

DFWBid.com officers 50%, 60% and even 90% discounts on items like gift cards, and electronics like Nintendo DS game systems and iPods.

"$50 dollar gift cards for under 10 dollars."

"And we had an ipod nano sell for $2.90."

And check out this 80% off deal. "Recently we did a coach bag card for 200 dollars and that went for 40 dollars.

Its competitive its fun you can win gift cards for 50 dollars for a penny. That's just amazing.

To join an auction, you must buy credits for $1 each through Paypal. It takes 3 credits to join an auction and that's how Raj makes his money to buy the cards but the actual bidding is free.

"When you place a bid the price goes up by one penny."

That keeps the prices low so everyone can get a deal. The auctions are timed to last for three minutes, but the clock resets each time a new bid is entered.

Colin Myers was a little leery of the site at first but once he tried it he won two cards and was hooked.

"I didn't expect it to be so easy," Colin said.

Colin proceeded to win a $50 gift card to Bath & Body Works for just one cent.

"I went in, clicked on the penny buy and there it was," he explained.

"I think it's an ingenious idea, allowing somebody to buy something for a penny. Nobody does that."

And at times like these when we're all looking to save each penny can make a difference.
