BLASDELL, N.Y. (WIVB) - Authorities evacuated Head Start Pre-K students from Blasdell Elementary School Thursday morning after an accident that killed a contractor working on the site.
Sources tell News 4 the victim was injured while working for a contractor in a crawl space underneath the school kitchen facilities. Rural Metro Medical Services reported the victim in cardiac arrest both leaving the scene and upon arrival at South Buffalo Mercy Hospital. He was later pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital. The contractor's name has not been released.
Head Start students were evacuated to Big Tree Elementary School. Initial reports of high carbon monoxide levels brought National Fuel to the school. But further testing indicated no elevated carbon monixide in the building.
