Report: Jails fail to correct problems

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A new justice department report shows Erie County has failed to correct problems at its two jails.

A two-year justice department investigation found that the county's two jails routinely violate the constitutional rights of their inmates and subject them to poor care.

The 50-page report says the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo and the Correction Facility in Alden have failed to correct many problems even after being notified by regulatory agencies.
