Schumer speaks out on stimulus package

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WIVB) - New York's Senior U.S. Senator says he has the remedy for critics of the president's stimulus package.

Chuck Schumer appeared Sunday morning on C.B.S's "Face the Nation."

He says Republicans can make some changes to make the bill more appealing to them and worth making into law.

Schumer said, "I think we can do more for housing. One of the Republican proposals is to raise the $7,500 tax credit we give to new home buyers, raise it up to $15,000 and do it for all home buyers. That's something we look favorably upon."
