AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police in Amherst are still searching for the gunman who killed a man earlier this week.
News 4 has learned the 21 year old who was killed was the roommate of another murder victim who was gunned down after graduating from the University at Buffalo.
"My roommate, now my brother, everything is taken away from me my dream is gone," said Richard Garnett, the victim's brother.
Richard Garnett is now dealing with losing two people dear to him in the past two weeks.
His roommate Javon Jackson was killed on Main Street the day after he graduated from UB. And now, his twin brother is gone.
21 year old Jesse Garnett was shot and killed while visiting this apartment on Yale Avenue in Amherst.
"I never met the guy, I never seen him, I don't know him," said Garnett.
Richard is referring to the man police are looking for, 24 year old Andre Ridgeway.
The shooting happened Monday night, while Jesse was visiting his girlfriend and her toddler.
Authorities say this was not a random act.
"These people know each other so people should not be worried that someone's just gonna come to their door," said Amherst Assistant Police Chief Timothy Green.
Amherst Police are looking for this man, Andre Ridgeway. He's described as 5' 6", 150 pounds. He should be considered armed and dangerous. If you have any information that can be helpful in this case, you're asked to call them at 689-1333.
