BUFFALO, N.Y. - Members of the University at Buffalo community , faculty, staff,
students, alumni and UB neighbors, will have an opportunity to view
and offer feedback on a draft of a plan to dramatically redesign
and reconfigure UB’s three campus centers at a forum to be
held today, Wednesday, November 19, 2008, in 105 Harriman Hall on
the UB South, Main Street, Campus.
Architectural renderings of proposed new campus buildings and
landscapes will be exhibited throughout the day. The
images can be viewed and downloaded at
Buffalo.edu.
Members of the media are invited to attend the session to be
held from 8 to 9:15 a.m, where UB President John B. Simpson and
Robert G. Shibley, UB professor of architecture and planning, will
discuss the plan to give each of UB's three campuses, North, South
and Downtown, a new identity and purpose, with the goal of making
UB a great place to learn, work and live.
Shibley, who serves as UB senior advisor for campus planning
and design, will be available for interviews after 9:15 a.m, upon
request. Another public presentation of the draft plan is
scheduled for noon to 1:15 p.m.
The comprehensive physical plan is being developed as part of
UB's plans to grow by 40 percent by the year 2020.
