BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - From WeatherWatch 4 Meteorologist Don Paul: A Flash Flood WATCH is in effect into Thursday for the Buffalo, Cazenovia, and Cayuga Creeks as well as the Cattaraugus Creek at Sunset Bay due to the threat of Ice Jam Flooding.

This threat will begin to increase on Tuesday as afternoon temperatures reach the lower 50s, drop only into the 40s overnight, and approach a springlike 60 on Wednesday.

The rate of runoff will speed up even more later Wednesday as Showers become more numerous into the evening.

Those living in flood-prone locations should begin taking precautions to protect their property as soon as possible, before ice jams begin shifting and possibly causing rapid rises in creek levels.

Meteorologist Mary Beth Wrobel will have her updated WeatherWatch 4Cast on Wakeup and on News 4 at Noon.
