LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - Lockport Police confirm that three teens who lived at the Wyndham Lawn group on East Avenue in Lockport home overpowered and killed a worker late Monday evening.
Investigators believe the teens then stole a van from the home, which was later found abandoned at a Wal-Mart on Transit Road.
The teen suspects were arrested later in downtown Buffalo.
At first police thought the teens were en route to the bus station in downtown Buffalo because officers arrested the teens just a few short blocks away from the downtown bus station.
Police said they've never had any trouble with children from the Wyndam Lawn Group home.
Some residents said they didn't even know there was a group home in their neighborhood.
"Definitely quiet, no problems, like I said I didn't even know it was there," said neighbor Katie Hecox.
