BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - She got some laughs on Letterman, and her story got thousands of hits on our website.
Bailey the Beagle visited our News 4 studios.

"And now folks, we have Mike Bower and Bailey."

The adorable beagle and her owner from East Aurora knocked 'em dead by playing dead on the Late Show with David Letterman last month.

"Play dead." (laugh)

Since then, Bailey's had more than 300,000 hits on YouTube and has been one of the most popular videos on WIVB.com, so we had to have the pair come on Wake Up on CW23 WNLO to tell us more about the Letterman experience.

News 4's Melissa Holmes asked, "Were you nervous at all that she wouldn't be able to do it?"

Mike Bower said, "I was a little nervous. There were a little noise from the band and from the crowd. And her ears were very perked. She was definitely nervous."

So how did Bailey learn the trick in the first place?

Bower said, " A little bit of luck and a little bit of trust. I used to just hold her in my arms and she flopped over one day and I had a treat and she'll do anything for food."

And now "play dead" has evolved.

"New England Patriots. Buffalo Bills. Excellent. And Wake Up for Channel 4!"

And the dog is not a one trick pony.

"Double right. Double. Good girl."

Bailey may be a ham in front of the camera but at home with Mike, his wife Jamie, and their daughter Myla, she's just like any other dog.

Bower said, "She can be obnoxious, I'll say."

The 15 minutes of fame will certainly continue if this old dog can learn even more new tricks.
