AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - Buffalo foreclosure attorney Steven J. Baum has more bad business news.
Baum's firm was in the news recently when photos of his staff dressed as homeless people at a Halloween party surfaced - not a good image for a firm that specializes in mortgage foreclosures.
The firm also recently settled a federal claim that they mishandled mortgage filings on behalf of clients, agreeing to pay a $2 million fine while admitting no wrongdoing.
Now Business First reports that mortgage giant Freddie Mac cut off the law firm from receiving future business.
The Freddie Mac website has published as statement, “After November 10, 2011, servicers may not refer any new Freddie Mac foreclosure or bankruptcy cases in New York to Steven J. Baum, P.C.”
