BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A young boy about 10-years-old is in the hospital after losing his legs to a train in Buffalo.
It happened a short time ago at Broadway and Memorial, near the Central Terminal. Two construction workers heard screaming and ran to help. This is the graphic scene that one of them described to us.
Andrew Gil said, "This little boy came running from the train tracks asking for help, yelling at the top of his lungs. I turned around and I see in the far distance one of another boy just crawling on his chest. At that time, Mario heard the calls for help as well. We both ran to this boy, noticed that his legs were cut off from the train tracks. Immediately I went to my car, got my phone and dialed 911."
Police believe the boy was playing on the tracks. They say the boy may have tried to hop onto a moving train and fell.
There is no word on the boy's condition at this hour.
